how to stop a denim purse with beige straps from bleeding?

i have read some previous posts about the problem of denim bleeding but i have some beige colored straps on the purse and they extend lower than the top of the denim bag...will the blue stain the straps? and can i get whatever that is to stop the bleeding at the any fabric stores? what is it called again?? and do i have to soak it in vinegar or salt before using the store brought stuff?? sorry for all the questions..thanks in advance

and one more thing...will it completely stop the bleeding because i will carry the purse under my arms and i have this white jacket that was tinted with denim b4 and i don't want it to happen again..thanx!

I have the same problem, but my denim purse is bleeding on other light clothing that I wear, such as my khaki pants. Can the purse be treated to stop this. It can't be washed because of the adornments and accessories on it.
