Devore / Burn-out Velvet

Rules

Silkpaint Corporation, manufacturers of Fiber-Etch Fabric Remover,  in conjunction with The Fabric Club are conducting a design contest at Fabrics.net. The focus is on the design of the fabric rather than the end use - fashion, quilting, crafts, etc.

All designs will be posted at Fabrics.net. All Entrants agree to have their design used for promotional purposes by Fabrics.net, Fiber-Etch, and The Fabric Club. Aside from this promotional use, all designs are the sole property of the Entrants.

The winning design will be awarded Fiber-Etch Gift Box filled with Fiber-Etch Fabric Remover, an AirPen for applying Fiber-Etch, and assorted Fiber-Etch Specialty Fabrics from Silkpaint Corporation. The Fabric Club will award 7 yards of velvet, enough for a coat, a suit, or whatever garment or use you wish.

The Devore Velvet contest will start September 1 and run until December 1. Prizes will be awarded on December 15, just in time for the holidays. There are no entry fees. Scanned designed swatches can be sent to Contest@fabrics.net. We will also accept photos of scanned designs or 6" X 6" swaches of fabric. Keep in mind, we will not return samples or photos.

Judging will be done online by:

  • Iris Lee, National Fiber-Etch Instructor.
  • Kathleen Fasanella, best selling Author of "The Entrepreneur's Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing".
  • Claire Shaeffer, best selling Author of "Fabric Sewing Guide". Internationally recognized speaker, College teacher for 23 years, Listed in Who's Who in the West, & Who's Who of Am. Women. Author of the following: The Complete Book of Sewing Short Cuts, Claire Shaeffer's Fabric Sewing Guide, Couture Sewing Techniques, High Fashion Sewing Secrets.
