Selling Instructions:
1. Register with Fabrics.net at the Fabric for Sale site at http://www.fabrics.net/Sell/seller/newprofile.asp. You
will be asked to state a user name and password of your choice. You will
also be asked to give your email address and will receive confirmation via
auto responder. If you do not receive an auto responder response, your
email address was entered incorrectly. Try again.
2. Log in to your profile using your user name and password and fill
out the new ad form with as much information as possible. In the "Notes" or
"Description" area, describe the fabric, where and when you purchased it,
if known, and the condition of the fabric. If the fabric has stains or
spots, it is in your best interest to indicate these by describing the
color, etc. Rust and mildew stains are of particular interest to the
buyers. Remember, you may want to sell items in this area again and your
reputation as an ethical seller is very important.
3. Post your scanned photo or swatch following the directions. When
photographing or scanning your items be sure and, in the case of fabric,
include the wrong side of the fabric by folding a small corner
over. Yardage amount is important as is the width of the fabric. Button
and closure (snaps, etc.) sizes are also important. Use a coin in your
photographs/scans to indicate the size of the print or item.
4. If you are not certain the type of fabric or the fiber content of the
fabric, please say so. Many buyers are very knowledgeable and may help you
determine this. Please also state if fabric has been washed and if selvage[s] have been cut off.
Note: There are 3 fabric
categories. Please use correct one to the best of your knowledge.
5. The price of your fabric or the amounts that you wish to sell are
totally up to you. We do not require any specific price for any specific
fabric or item. You can sell your fabric in 1/2 yard pieces to several
buyers or one item from several that you have listed. You may also offer a
complete collection of fabric or items at a specific price. Offering a
price or allowing someone to make an offer by stating OBO (or best offer)
is also allowed.
If you have already listed your fabric or items on another web site, you
are welcome to give the URL of the location, for example, your eBay URL or
your own web site URL.
6. When sending a sold item to a buyer, be sure to send it with a tracking number from an agency such as UPS. This will give you a trace as to when and where the package was delivered.
