Internet Scams and Fraud
By Jessie
Fabrics.net
It has been brought to our attention that someone is impersonating Fabrics.net. They are emailing people with an employment, investment or money making propositions. This is not Fabrics.net or anyone associated with Fabrics.net.
Do not be fooled! Fabrics.net would never ask you to cash checks, work from home or anything, really. We only have one location and it is in Spokane, Washington, USA.
DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY OR ANY INFORMATION!
Here is an example of the fraud:

Hello,
How are you doing and how is your day? Hope everything is fine I got your email signifying your interest in this job opening which I believe you understand all what this job entails, The job is a part time job which I believe will not affect your present job because all you need to be doing is to be getting payment in care of the company and keeping records of all the payment you get. furthermore you will be getting the company's payment from the company's US customer's which will come to you as a check, money order or a traveler’s check in your name and which you will need to take to your bank and get it cashed and then after getting it cashed you will need to deduct 10% out of any payment you get which will be your commission for each job done and you will be getting $1000 each month in a check addressed to you as your salary... you will be required to do a minimum of 5 jobs a month and a maximum of 10 depending on how fast you can work with your own initiative.. After receiving this payments and deducting your 10% you will need to send the rest of the payment via western union to the company's representative anywhere the company wants you to send it to. attached to this is an employment form you will need to fill out and send it back to me as soon as possible and by doing this I will know that you are ready for this work which is meant to commence latest by tomorrow morning so get back to me as soon as possible with the completed form so I can open a file for you under the company's name and then you will get started ASAP because we have some customer's already that are ready to send their payment so get back to me ASAP.
we would like you to know that we are glad to be having you on board, but first you would have to fill our employment form and returned to us. We are giving you a copy in this email that you would fill and return back to us. All you would be doing is receiving these payments in form of Money Orders, which would be coming from some clients of mine in the United States via the mail and as soon as you got the money you can take it to bank to cash it and if you want to open an account for this you can and it depends on your bank. So when you get these US money orders all you have to do is have them cashed and deduct your share (10%) and wire the rest down to me here in England via (WESTERN UNION MONEY Transfer). I would also need some proof of Identity. So I have attached an Employment form for you to fill and send back to me via email. My phone number in the UK. Is 44-7961-44089. Well when you receive the funds and you are meant to take out 10% from the funds you receive and then forward the remaining balance to our company via western union I would need a copy of your id scanned and sent to me via email for our records. Hope to hear from your soon.

Hello there,
My Company is looking for a representative (PART-TIME / FULL - TIME)
in the
states that is trustworthy and honest who would be helping out with
payment
processing and collection. This job would not affect your current state
of work;
little or no computer skills are required. And the job is on part-time
bases.
All you would be doing is receiving these payments that would come to
you via
the mail system in your country, have them cashed and remit the rest to
me. I
would be willing to pay you 10% of whatever payment you process. These
payments
would come in different forms like money orders, cashier’s check and
travelers
checks.
FABRICS.NET TEXTILES............ is an establishment that deals in the Import and
export
Art& crafts, antiques and textiles and fabric materials. Our company
also
develops the programs, web-sites, systems of management for
web-applications and
e-shop's complexes for a quite long time, I am always facing serious
difficulties when it comes to selling the company's goods to Americans;
they are
always offering to pay with Different Modes, which are difficult for me
to cash
here in the UK. All because of a hold of almost two weeks that would be
placed
on them before they clears the banks here in the UK.
These payments would be coming in your name, so that it would be
possible for
you to have them cashed. And there is NO FEE or SIGN-UP FEE of any
kind. The
payment would be sent to you directly from my clients in the states or
me after
verifying the details on them. All you would be doing is cashing the
payments
and deducting your share (10%) and having the rest sent down to my
secretary via
WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER. the FEE for the transfer would also be
deducted
from my SHARE of the money
